FULL DESCRIPTION
Retell Writing Unit Foundation helps young learners tell the important parts of a familiar story in order using pictures, oral language and early writing. The sequence explicitly teaches characters, setting, important events, problem, solution, beginning-middle-end structure, order words and the importance of using one's own words.

Students move from whole-class modelling and colourful shared stories into sequencing, sorting, oral retell games, supported writing, reading response and independent assessment. The colour displays, cards and activities are ready for classroom use. Printable worksheets, assessment pages and the rubric are supplied in black and white. Matching answer pages place red answers directly in the student response spaces.
