Description

Teach similes and metaphors through a clear sequence that moves from recognition to interpretation, purposeful creation and revision. Students identify the two unlike things being compared, name the shared quality, explain the image or feeling created, distinguish similes from metaphors in context, improve tired comparisons and write original examples suited to a detail and tone.

The 31-page A4 unit plan and resource pack combines colour display, sorting, matching and game materials with low-ink black-and-white worksheets, passage analysis, differentiated writing practice, assessment and a five-level rubric. Ten answer or sample-response pages sit immediately after the matching student task for straightforward teaching and marking.

A 16-slide editable PowerPoint presentation provides the explicit teaching sequence. A 22-slide editable quiz supplies ten mixed question-and-answer pairs. The 69-page combined Preview includes the clean Table of Contents, protected resource pages, and protected presentation and quiz slides.
