About this unit
Super Symmetry gives teachers a structured week of Year 3 mathematics learning that progresses from familiar mirror symmetry to more precise spatial reasoning. Students identify symmetrical and asymmetrical figures, test possible mirror lines, count lines of symmetry, complete reflections on grids, describe quarter and half turns, recognise simple rotational order, and design their own symmetrical patterns.
The editable 20-slide presentation provides explicit teaching and worked language for whole-class lessons. A separate editable 22-slide quiz includes 10 question-and-answer pairs using true/false, short-answer and four-option multiple-choice formats. The 33-page unit plan PDF brings together colour displays and hands-on resources with black-and-white practice, assessment, matching red-answer pages and a five-level marking rubric.
