Full Description
Help Year 1 students understand, read and create clear procedural texts. This comprehensive unit introduces the purpose and structure of a procedure, then develops students' use of titles, materials, ordered methods, sequencing words, action verbs, adverbs and supporting pictures.
The learning sequence moves from explicit teaching and teacher modelling into colourful prompt cards, oral-language activities and hands-on games. Students then complete differentiated, picture-supported practice about making cereal, brushing teeth and planting a seed before applying their learning in a two-part Paper Bookmark Procedure assessment.
The final set includes a 19-slide editable teaching presentation, a 10-question editable quiz with matching answer slides, a 36-page A4 unit-plan/resource PDF and 12 interleaved answer or exemplar pages. Worksheets and assessments are black and white for straightforward printing; displays, activity cards and games are supplied in colour.
