Description
Build confident, flexible readers with a complete Year 6 English unit focused on the comprehension strategy of predicting. The sequence explicitly teaches students to notice useful clues, interpret what those clues suggest, form a plausible prediction, test it against new information and revise when the evidence changes.
Students explore dialogue, setting, tone, word choice, foreshadowing, structure, character motivation, perspective, visuals and author intent across literary, informative, persuasive and visual texts. Clear modelled examples lead into scaffolded worksheet practice, partner games, an eight-section predictive-language spinner and a two-part assessment.
The unit is designed for approximately five lessons, with enough differentiated practice and extension material to adapt the pace. All worksheet and assessment answer pages preserve the student-page layout and add a red ANSWERS label with red model responses. The editable PowerPoint presentation and quiz support whole-class teaching and flexible review.
