FULL PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Teach students to unlock unfamiliar and technical words by analysing the meaningful parts inside them. This Year 6 English unit develops morphology knowledge through explicit instruction, guided practice, independent application, collaborative activities and assessment.

Students learn to identify prefixes, suffixes, bases and roots; combine morpheme meanings; explain changes in word class; and apply the spelling generalisations used when suffixes are added. Greek and Latin root work supports technical vocabulary, while context tasks require students to confirm inferred meanings in authentic sentences and a short passage.

The editable 12-slide PowerPoint presentation provides the teaching sequence. The editable 22-slide quiz includes 10 question-and-answer pairs using multiple-choice, true-or-false and short-response formats.
